My name is Alyssa and I grew up making jewelry with my family. My mother used to work at a pearl stand in Oahu, Hawaii in her teens. For a decade, she sourced pearls fresh from oysters and made jewelry for tourists. She taught me how to make jewelry when I was in elementary and I developed a passion for it. 

Recently, I decided to take the leap and develop my passion into my own business. Pearls are one of the few gems that are unique to Earth and I wanted to share the gift that is pearl jewelry. My proudest accomplishment was when I sold the first pair of earrings I had made. I was so proud and happy that someone would find my work beautiful enough to wear.

As a woman-, LGBTQ-, POC-owned small business, Cutie Citi NYC prides ourselves on our commitment to sustainability and slow fashion. Our jewelry brand exclusively utilizes recycled real freshwater pearls, ensuring that each piece is not only stylish but also eco-friendly. By repurposing pearls from broken strands, we give them a new lease on life, creating unique and environmentally conscious jewelry.
